> The Zenrows API (Fetch, Extract via extract=auto, and Batch) is described in OpenAPI 3.1 at https://www.zenrows.com/openapi.json and listed in the RFC 9727 API catalog at https://www.zenrows.com/.well-known/api-catalog. Use the spec for exact parameter names and types.

# Zenrows API Reference

> Zenrows API reference, OpenAPI spec, authentication, SDKs and MCP server: every developer resource for the Fetch, Extract, Batch and Crawl APIs in one place.

The Zenrows API is a small set of HTTP endpoints. This page links the reference for each one, the machine-readable OpenAPI spec, how to authenticate, and the SDKs and MCP server built on top of the same API.

## API reference by product

| Product | Base URL | Reference |
| - | - | - |
| Fetch (formerly, Universal Scraper API) | `GET https://api.zenrows.com/v1/` | [Zenrows Fetch API Reference](/fetch/api-reference) |
| Extract | `https://api.zenrows.com/v1/extract/` | [Zenrows Extract API Reference](/extract/endpoints) |
| Batch | `https://async.api.zenrows.com/v1` | [Zenrows Batch API Reference](/batch/developer-guide-restapi) |
| Crawl | `https://api.zenrows.com/v1/crawls` | [Crawl Endpoints](/crawl/endpoints) |

Extract also runs as a parameter of Fetch, `extract=auto`. See [Introduction to Extract](/extract/introduction) for that path.

## OpenAPI spec

The Zenrows API is described in OpenAPI 3.1 at [www.zenrows.com/openapi.json](https://www.zenrows.com/openapi.json), covering Fetch (including the `extract` parameter) and Batch. Load it into an API client, a code generator, or an agent's tool definitions for exact parameter names and types. The spec is listed in the RFC 9727 API catalog at [www.zenrows.com/.well-known/api-catalog](https://www.zenrows.com/.well-known/api-catalog). See [API Versioning and Deprecation](/api-versioning) for how versions are retired.

## Authentication

Every request carries your Zenrows API key. Fetch reads it from the `apikey` query parameter, and Batch reads it from the `X-API-Key` header. See [Zenrows API Authentication](/authentication) for each surface and for where to find your key.

## SDKs

Official, typed SDKs wrap the same API for Fetch and Batch, and Extract runs through the Fetch client. See [Zenrows SDKs](/sdk/overview) for the languages and install steps.

## MCP server

The [Zenrows MCP Server](/mcp/overview) gives AI tools, agents and applications the same capabilities over the Model Context Protocol, at `https://mcp.zenrows.com/mcp`. Its tools are listed in the [MCP tool reference](/mcp/tool-reference).

## Errors

Every error code the API returns, with the corrective action for each, is on [API Error Codes](/api-error-codes).
